one of my favourite photos
is of my children
when my youngest was a newborn
it was taken in the hospital

I was holding him while his big brother
grins beside us

one of the mishaps from my recent move
was that the frame
broke ...

I tried to remove the photo today to reframe it
in something else if I could
how odd that the only place that it was stuck
was where my wedding band
showed on my hand ...

that little piece tore off
stuck to the glass
and this sense
this funny little feeling/sense
settles down around me

and then I realized
the Universe knows
e v e r y t h i n g ...

why is it
that those that are really wonderful people
the ones that care about others
the genuine ones
the ones that listen with their hearts
as well as their hearing
are the ones
that are taken
too soon

why is it?
